Slight review

Well, I must say that I'm not that fond of gospel music, speakin' in general. I think gospel is very American kind of music style and not very popular or even well-known here in Finland. We live different.

However, I'm pretty impressed. Madame Jackson sings with a very soulful touché and I can easily imagine the atmosphere somwehere in deep South when this kind of music is played in churches.

I play this now and then, in the still of the night when in the mood. Spirit, sister...

Technical data: The original monaural version of this record has been electronically rechanneled for exciting stereophonic sound. The original tape was recorded on Ampex 300 equipment. The rerecordnings was done in accordance with R.I.A.A. standards for cutting stereophonic discs incorporating 45°-45° system, using Ampex tape machines through two specially designed 200 watt cutting amplifiers driving a Westrex feedback cutter installed on an automatic Scully lathe fitted with variable depth and variable pitch mechanisms. For best results it is recommended that the standard R.I.A.A. characteristics for each channel should be followed.
